How To Clean Your Oven
Make Cleaning the Oven, EASY
Your oven is a heavy lifter in the kitchen. Baked dishes, casseroles, sweets, you name it. But for an appliance that we depend on so much we can sometimes overlook just how important it is to keep it clean and functioning like new. Discover some of the simpler ways to maintain your oven and show it the love it deserves!
Self Cleaning Mode – What exactly is this for? Will it get the job done?
Put those rubber gloves, and sponge away, we’re about to tell you a trick that will change your life forever. Some ovens have the magic power to clean themselves. That’s right, we said, it, clean themselves. The oven uses high temperature heat, well above 800 degrees to remove food spills, and hard to get out stains. The high temperature decomposes the excess food spillage and turns it into ash. Let it cool and finish it off by wiping away any remaining with a damp paper towel.
Cleaning the Oven Using Self-Cleaning Mode
The self-cleaning cycle is great for removing those baked-on spills, grease, and messes from not only the glass door but the entire oven as well.
The first step in cleaning an oven is to make sure the oven is empty. Then, open up the windows in your home. The self-cleaning cycle can heat the oven up to nearly 900 degrees, depending on what model you have. It can also potentially emit fumes, so proper ventilation is key.
The self-cleaning cycle will clean the entire inside of the oven, including the glass door. The process can take anywhere from two to four hours to complete. When the cycle is finished, wait for the oven to cool down. All the debris will have been heated into ash, which can be wiped away with a damp cloth. Cleaning the Outside of the Oven

I know the thought of cleaning your oven door is enough to make you pick up the phone and order take out. Cleaning Grime Between the Panes of the Oven Door
Have you ever wondered how to clean in between the glass in your oven door? Thankfully, cleaning in between the glass in your oven door is much easier than expected. Follow along these simple steps to have your oven looking brand new.
Removing the Oven Door
- Open the oven door slightly, to the point where it naturally rests open a few inches. Remove the three screws from the top of the door and set them aside.
- Slightly lift the top frame section of the door. It won’t come off, but it will rock up a little bit, just enough so it’s not holding the glass from the top.
- Gently grasp the glass on each side and pull up from the bottom ledge. The glass may be difficult to remove because it has a few little adhesive pads along the sides. Just work it gently out and set it aside on a blanket or the carpet.
The hard part is done! Now, all you have to do is spray some degreaser and finish it off with Boulder Clean glass cleaner to the inside of the glass, don’t be afraid to use generously.
Next, clean the front of the door that’s still attached to the oven. It also helps to dust all around the inside of the door.
Replacing the Oven Door
- Once you’ve cleaned both the inside of the door, and the inside of the glass front, you can gently set the glass back in the bottom ledge, center it, and lay it flat against the door.
- Lift up the top edge of the door again, tilt the glass in, and let the top clamp down over the glass.
- Replace the three screws and screw them in nice and tight, and you’re done!
