FAQ
Always follow the label directions. EPA-registered disinfectants are for use on surfaces, not humans. Never apply disinfectants to skin or directly to food. A part of EPA’s responsibility is to ensure that if you follow the label directions, no unreasonable adverse effects on human health, including the health of children, will occur. Simple steps can prevent harm when caring for active and curious young children: Keep out of reach of children. This product is not intended for consumption. IN CASE OF EYE CONTACT FLUSH WITH WATER. IF SWALLOWED, DRINK WATER AND CONSULT A PHYSICIAN.
This solution is not to be diluted. You will need to use enough product for your floor’s surface to be wet thoroughly, and remain visibly wet for at least 10 minutes and allowed to air dry.
Thank you for reaching out. The Disinfectant Cleaner is safe to use on most sealed, non-porous surfaces including sealed granite, marble and tile to name a few. Quartz is considered a non-porous surface, so our disinfectant is safe for use.
We do however always recommend testing in an inconspicuous area when using for the first time. If you notice any watermarks or stains, then please contact our team.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Boulder Clean remains committed to formulating our cleaners with the most powerful plant-based ingredients. That’s why we’ve been able to create a an entire line of non-toxic cleaners, which includes our Disinfectant Cleaner.
To answer your question, the Disinfectant Cleaner is in fact a Rinse Free Formula. That means no rise is required when sanitizing food contact surfaces, pet toys and even children’s toys.
Although rinsing is not necessarily required, if you are concerned that your child will put the toy in his/her mouth, we recommend that it’s best practice to go ahead and give the toy a quick rinse after you have allowed enough time for the cleaner to do it’s job: 60 seconds for sanitizing, 10 minutes for disinfecting.

Thank you for reaching out. Our Disinfectant Cleaner is safe for use on most hard, non-porous surfaces. However, wood is a porous surface so the cleaner is not to be used on unpainted wood. If your wood floors are sealed with a lacquer and/or sealant, we advise that you test the Disinfectant Cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area first. If you like the results then continue to apply the cleaner as needed.
Thank you for the question. Ammonium C6-10-alkyl Polyoxyethylene Sulfate is a surface active agent we use to create improved cleaning and emulsifying properties to boost cleaning power. It’s used in many cosmetic products, shampoos and body-wash as a foaming agent.
Regarding the safety component of your question, this ingredient is considered “Green” and “Safer”. It’s biodegradable and non toxic at the level used in our product formula. It is also included in the EPA Safer Choice’s Safer Chemical Ingredients List and it has been verified to be of low concern based on experimental and modeled data.
That is a great question! Thank you for bringing it up.
The Disinfectant Cleaner can safely be dispensed using an electrostatic sprayer. This type of sprayer is simply an alternative method of application to traditional spray bottles. The electrostatic charge (which can be turned on or off by the user) is an assistive mechanism. It’s primary function is to aid the user in more efficient and comprehensive application of EPA Registered chemical disinfectants and sanitizers to surfaces. It will not negatively impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting agent.
If you prefer an electrostatic sprayer, then by all means use it!
Thank you for your question. The Disinfecting Spray is both a Non-toxic and Non-flammable solution, so feel free to use it for the dryer machine.
To disinfect, spray the solution to wet all surfaces thoroughly. The surface must remain visibly wet for ~10 minutes. Then, wipe dry with a paper towel or allow the surface enough time to air dry.
To sanitize, wet the surface and let stand for 60 seconds. Again, wipe dry with a paper towel or allow enough time for the surface to dry naturally.
Thanks for the question. The Disinfecting Spray will not damage hard, non-porous surfaces. Make sure not to use it on unpainted wood or natural marble or brass. For plastic and painted surfaces, spot test on an inconspicuous area before use.
Thank you for your question! The Disinfecting Spray is highly effective against germs, bacteria and even viruses. However, it’s not an effective solution for mold or mildew.
Instead, look to our Foaming Bathroom Cleaner to tackle those cleaning tasks. Plant-based cleansing agents and foaming action help to dissolve soap scum and other grimy build-up — AND remove dirt, mold + mildew stains and hard water build-up — without scratching. It’s safe for most surfaces: glazed porcelain, tile, ceramic, chrome, grout, glass, etc.
The Disinfecting Spray is completely safe to use on sealed granite. You can utilize a simple water absorption test to make sure your granite is sealed. If the water is absorbed into the granite, then it’s most likely time to add another layer of sealant.
Thank you for reaching out. We are happy to confirm that the Disinfecting Spray is indeed Gluten-free, as is the rest of our line of surface cleaning products.
